Releasing February 1st is the Flying the Flag collection from the Flimby Factory in England. The collection features three of their flagship models namely the 1500, 577 and CT300. Finished in premium materials and featuring the colours that make up the Union Jack look for these to release at stores like Hanon and End.

I don't normally do a lot of editing to the shots I take its normally just a few tweaks in iPhoto but all of the following shots are completely unedited and uncropped. The true colour, shape and materials  on these is great and justifies the hype that follows them. These were shot with my Canon 550D fitted with a 50mm 1.8 lens. Settings used were ISO 400 f/2.2 1/250

In the last 6 years Flimby made a move to improve quality and reinforce the toe box of the 1500, the problem is it created what is now known as the "cliff" toe box. This has resulted in many people being disinterested in 1500s and opting rather for the great shape of Made in USA 1300s or 998s. But it looks like Flimby have been listening and recent 1500s seem to have improved the shape, especially seen in these upcoming pairs in Burgundy and Slate. This is really exciting for the die hard 1500 fans like me and great to see that a big company like New Balance still listens to their consumers. Look for these to be more widely available in the coming weeks:
